There are several site popularity tools, very widely used for the web site reputation calculation – Google PR, Alexa, Netcraft, etc.
Text Link Ads service is known for very good affiliate program, as well as for 100 $US credit on their Google PR link building service. It has very interesting free blog popularity tool – TLA Blog Juice Rank (Score).
Blog Juice Score is interesting mashup service which combines four rating services:
1. Approximate number of Bloglines subscribers. 30% of the complete score.
2. Alexa rank of the site. 15% of the complete score.
3. Technorati rank of the site. 30% of the complete score.
4. Technorati inbound links for the site. 15% of the complete score.
The range of this score is from 0 to 10. For example, the score of the famous site Alistapart.com is TLA 9.3. For this site, the TLA Blog Juice Score is TLA 1.8.
In my opinion this is very interesting rank system, and it is better than variety of single ranking systems like I mentioned at the beginning of this blog post. I already heard that some bloggers will create the top lists of popular blogs, based upon TLA Blog Juice Score.
The future of reputable free web site ranking systems is in the mashup services like TLA Blog Juice.
Site Value Report Mashup
Interesting list of services can be found at DNSCoop.com. This service combines several ranking tools, but almost all of them are practically listed and not mixed in the services with new value (e.g. domain age, Google PR, Alexa Rank…). The part of this service which is pretty interesting is Site Value Report.
Site Value Report “is calculated based on several factors shown above, including: Links, Traffic (Alexa), age of the domain, site category, domain keyword popularity, and overall occurrences of the domain name on the web.”
I am sure that in the next period of time we will see more good web site ranking tools, created as the new value from a current publicly available ranking services.
